Thwing drop-in!

Our next ‘drop-in’ event will be at the Church Rooms, Thwing. Saturday 26th November 2-4pm. This is a chance to come and find out about fracking and what impacts it will have on our lives if it is allowed to go ahead. Fracking has been given the go-ahead in Lancashire and at Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire. Planning applications are expected for East Yorkshire soon.

6th October 2016: Government decision on Lancashire planning applications

A sad day for local democracy, for the people of Lancashire and for the environment. National Government has ignored the democratic wishes of the people of Lancashire and their County Council and have allowed a planning application for fracking. Sajid Javid has said he is also ‘minded’ to accept one other application and has given the drilling company more time to address traffic safety concerns.

There are huge implications for other areas of the country. We can expect to see planning applications going in for East Yorkshire very soon.
